Navigating the process of creating a painting proves challenging to articulate, as much of the experience is thoughtless – no thinking involved.

Frequently, I find myself unable to recall the specific thoughts or emotions that guided my hand. What I can express, however, is that I love layering, a technique mirroring the intricacy of our human existence. Essentially, my artistic endeavor revolves around capturing and portraying diverse experiences and getting to the truth - finding the heart of the matter.

I needed a soft place to decompress following a challenging situation.  The act of conversing with a paintbrush serves as a means to forge a new perspective, or manage the surge of emotions coursing through my being.

During the early stages of my artistic journey, a surprising revelation unfolded—the emergence of a heart within the layers of paint. Initially, I had dismissed the painting as lacking substance, only to realize my error lay in viewing it in fragments rather than as a cohesive whole. This realization paralleled my tendency to dissect and amplify my own weaknesses rather than perceiving myself as a complete individual.

As someone guided by faith, I sensed a divine message in this revelation, affirming that regardless of my thoughts or feelings, I am unconditionally loved. This love stands as a steadfast constant, akin to the freedom of free will. However, amidst fragmented thoughts, I had lost touch with self-care and compassion. Through painting, I rediscover a sense of being cared for consistently—a sentiment I hope others can also experience.

It’s all about love…

It begins with a color, or a poem, or a word and painting shows me how to experiencing it.
